East Jakarta PPKD Facilitates Job Selection to Japan

The East Jakarta Regional Job Training Center (PPKD) facilitates the recruitment of workers to work in Japan. This program is a collaboration between the Indonesian Migrant Worker Placement and Protection (P3MI) and PT Transjakarta, creating job opportunities for residents of Jakarta and other regions.

Head of East Jakarta PPKD, Teguh Hendarwan said the selection process is being conducted in stages and has been ongoing since last week. As of the fourth day of implementation, 720 participants had completed the various stages.

"Today, around 120 participants took part in the selection process which included written tests, psychological tests and interviews," he said, Wednesday (6/3).

He explained that the target number of participants is 1,500. Meanwhile, the national demand for Japanese workers reaches 3,000 for various job fields.

According to him, the East Jakarta PPKD will deploy around 40 workers in 2026 for the scaffolding and automotive sectors, or as drivers. These workers will serve two to three years on contracts in Japan.

"Before being departed, successful participants will undergo 45 days to three months of Japanese language training. They are targeted to achieve N4 level Japanese language proficiency, and then receive skills training relevant to their field of work," he explained.

He added that over the past three years, the East Jakarta PPKD has successfully sent 35 workers to Japan.

"This program is expected to continue to open up wider employment opportunities while improving community welfare," he added.

Meanwhile, one of the selection participants from Lubang Buaya Urban Village, Khoeron Darojat (30) admitted that he found out about the recruitment information via the East Jakarta PPKD social media.

"I want to work as a flight driver in Japan because I see better opportunities for welfare improvement," he admitted.
